Rash & Skin Infection Care
Diagnosis and treatment for rashes, hives, warts, and bacterial, viral, or fungal skin infections.
Rashes come from allergies, infections, irritants, medications, and sometimes underlying health conditions. We examine your skin, ask about recent exposures, new products, travel, and medications, and take a sample when the cause is not clear from the exam.
Photos help, especially if the rash looks different now than when it started. Bring a list of any new medications, supplements, soaps, or detergents, and note whether anyone else at home has something similar.
Bacterial, fungal, and viral infections, including warts, are treated based on what the diagnosis turns out to be. Care may involve prescription medication, an in-office procedure, or both, along with guidance on keeping it from spreading.
Many rashes look alike but need opposite treatments. A steroid cream can calm one rash and worsen a fungal infection, which is why a rash that is not improving deserves a proper diagnosis rather than another product.
A rash that spreads quickly, is painful, blisters, or comes with fever, facial swelling, or trouble breathing needs urgent evaluation. Call our office, and seek emergency care if breathing is affected.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about rash & skin infection care.
If it is persistent, spreading, painful, or not responding to over-the-counter care, an evaluation finds the cause and gets you on the right treatment instead of guessing.
Yes. Warts spread through direct contact and can spread on your own skin as well. Treatment depends on the type, the location, and how long they have been there.
Often, yes. Sometimes a small sample or additional testing is what confirms it, and that step is worth taking when the answer changes your treatment.
It depends entirely on the cause. Some infections spread easily and some rashes cannot spread at all, and you will get a clear answer about which situation you are in.
Recurring rashes often point to an ongoing exposure, an incompletely treated infection, or an underlying condition. That pattern is useful information, so mention it at your visit.
