Mole & Skin Growth Removal

Evaluation and in-office removal of moles, cysts, skin tags, and other growths, whether medical or simply bothersome.

Every growth is examined before anything is removed. We assess whether it is likely benign, whether it should be tested, and which removal method suits its type, size, and location. That order matters, because removing a spot without evaluating it can hide useful information.

Technique depends on the growth itself. Shave removal, excision, and other office-based methods are all options, and each is done under local anesthesia so the area is numb throughout. You will hear which method is recommended and why before you decide.

Most removals are quick and done during a regular office visit. You will feel a brief sting from the numbing, then pressure rather than pain. Many patients return to their normal day right afterward, with simple instructions for the site.

You go home with written care instructions. Most sites heal within a few weeks, and keeping the area clean, covered, and out of the sun gives you the best result. You will know what normal healing looks like, so you know when to call.

Some growths are removed because they are changing, painful, or need testing. Others are removed because they catch on clothing or simply bother you. Both are reasonable reasons, and they are handled differently for billing, which we go over upfront.
